Melissa Chats Part 2: Melissa’s Life

In part one of our Melissa Chat series, we talked about Melissa’s journey in creating high, what it means to her, and all about being organic, vegan, and natural! Today we’re going to discuss what Melissa’s life looks like with high, from creating the products to life in the office!

What does your everyday life look like with high beauty?

Melissa talks about how when working for high, there are two different sides to her brain, her creative side and her finance side. She says, “as a founder, my passion is the brand development and the brand creation & formulation, but as a CEO, I have to balance out every part of the business.” Funding a business requires a lot of vision and passion, as does creating the products. Melissa says she tends to compartmentalize her daily tasks, so one day, she works with her finance team, and then another day, she works on the more creative side by creating packaging and picking colors for products.

What is it like making the products?

Melissa was in her 20s when she first started creating products in the lab, creating thousands of formulas; she figured out her true passion. With high beauty, she fell in love with working with essential oils; Melissa got really into blending and working with essential oils that she now can now blend an essential blend just from her memory. Formulation wise she can remember the main ingredients in products that worked and what didn’t. Melissa says formulating now is in her head; she knows what to start with and how to create the best formula for her products!
