Bad Skincare Habits to Avoid

Bad Skincare Habits to Avoid

There are tons of bad skin habits out there that we are all guilty of doing.  Don’t worry today we will educate and inform you on some of the worst skin habits out there and what to do instead!

We are starting with a common thing we all do, picking at your skin! I know how tempting it is with dry patchy flakes on your face or popping blemishes to relieve pain, but you are causing damage to your skin. Frequent picking can worsen more noticeable blemishes, acne scars, and painful, inflamed skin. How you can resolve this issue is to keep your hands busy- try to distract yourself by squeezing a stress ball or keeping active by going on a run! Figure out when you commonly pick at your skin and try to avoid these triggers, so you eventually stop.

Do you ever forget to wear your SPF before you go outside? This is a common thing many people do. We think, “oh, it’s not that sunny out,” or “I never burn in the sun.” This is a bad habit that needs to be fixed right away; not wearing sunscreen not only can cause a sunburn, but over time, your skin will develop more wrinkles, saggy skin, and age spots. We highly recommend purchasing a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30+ to protect your skin from the sun!

We have covered picking at your skin and making sure you wear your SPF but did you know how bad it can be to pick the wrong skincare products for your skin. Using products that are wrong for your skin type is a hugely common mistake we all have made.

For OILY SKIN: You should choose products with salicylic acid. We highly recommend using our high & bye line, formulated with LYGOS-CBG which helps purify imperfections. Salicylic acid and willow bark help dry and eliminate blemishes. BioCanna® helps nourish for clear, and beautiful skin.

For DRY SKIN: Use hydrating and moisturizing products that don’t strip away protective oils, it is also good to use anti-aging products because dry skin ages faster than oily skin types. We recommend using high five facial moisturizer, formulated with hempseed oil, bioflavonoids, and pure essential plant oils, high® delivers the high-powered benefits of hemp, to protect with potent antioxidants, balance with adaptogens, soothe, hydrate, and replenish.

For SENSITIVE SKIN: Use products that are alcohol-free, clean ingredients that won’t strip the skin. We recommend using high-priority cleansing foam, made for all skin types with ingredients such as hemp seed oil, lemon balm, sunflower seed oil, and shea butter amidopropyl betaine.
